AN UGLY INCIDENT.

An ugly incident, occurred at Casablaiiouj where recently two hundred soldiers of the Foreign U'gion deserted. Ueiulii noes saw live whom they recognised. The deserters were brought to the sCiisliore by the «,ccrcl:ii'y of the Herman Consulate and .Moorish horsemen in the employ of the Consul. When about to enter a 'boat to embark ou the Hamburg steamer, the gendarmes arrested them. When a horseman interfered he was arrested, but later they liberated him. Herman accounts state that the .French harbor captain pointed a revolver nl t'be secretary and fiercely assaulted the horseman. The Cologne Gazette insists ou linn action, since the gendarmes', conduct was absolutely illegal. The French Press assert that several of the deserters were uot (jcnuaiis.
