Xew Zealand will be represented at the Australasian -Medical Congress by Dr. Mason. Chief Medical Ollicer, Dr. Pollen. Wellington port Health Ollicer, and Dr. Poumre, Chief Native Health Ollicer.
We are requested to state that the vicar appointed to Oka to parish is unable to take up his new charge until tiie end of November. Arrangements have therefore teen made by the Okato Vestry that the llev. Edwin Allanson, of Omara, will take the services.
Madame Mclba, who is to tour the Dominion next year, is, to give one con cert in Xew Plymouth on 14th May.
.Air. 11. A. Young, of Westoort, recently resigned the post of Magistrate at I'retoria. and is about to return i' l Xew Zealand. Mr. Young went to the Transvaal in luihi. and for two years was I'ublie Prosecutor. Subsequently he wa- appointed .Magistrate at Pretoria, and held this post for four years, lie was elfered a handsome salary to remain, but the heavy work and the trying climate were beginning to tell upon his health, and he decided to give no his post. "I would rather have C 230 a year in Xew Zealand than £1(1(11] in the Tran-vaat." said Mr. Young. Accompanied liy his wife, Mr. Young arrived in London from South Africa a few weeks ago. They will spend some time in England and on the Continent before returning to New Zealand, via America. Mr. Young intends to resume legal practice in the Dominion.
