TAIL SHAFT BROKEN. Suva, September 23. A boat from the steamer Wlrangape has come hire to report that the steamer's tnil shaft was broken on -Monday, The Whnngapc was left drifting near Kadavu. THE ATUA DESPATCHED. Dunedin, Wednesday. The Whnngape, which was reported from Suva to have broken her slhaft, was bound from Wellington to Suva, and was within SO miles of her destination at the time of the accident. The Atun left Suva this morning to tow her into port. Dmiedin, Last Night. The Union Company advises tlhnt the Whangaipe was a very light ship, having little or no cargo when she left Wellington for Suva to load sugar for Auckland.
