At the Onchnnga .Magistrate's Court to-day Mr. Northeroft, S.M., gave judgment in the case in which .Mcintosh, lieadmaslvr of the public school at Oneliunga, was charged with assaulting a pupil by caning him. Palmcrston N., Monday. AlfMd Banks, of the Banks Meat Co., died yesterday from heart disease. His age was 57 years. He had been ill a long time.
