•At Stony River on Wednesday the yards were very full, and there was a large attendance. Bidding n'as brisk for nearly all classes, especially for young cattle and springing heifers, which soul at improved rates. A line of 3'/ 2 - to 4year bullocks was passed in. Mixed yearlings made 27 a to 31s, heifer do. 2!)s to 30s, steer do. 35s to 40s (id, 18-months heifers £2, 4-year forward bullocks £4 175.0 d, springing heifers £4 7s (id to £6, springing cows £4 12s Od to £O, Jersey do. £7 2s Od to £0 15s, fat cows £4 18s 6d to £5 !)s, store do. 22s to 455, fat wethers Ills, mixed hoggets Ss lid. At Waiwakaiho on Thursday then; was a bigger yarding and attendance than for some time past. There was good competition for nearly all classes, and nearly everything sold at the hammer at improved prices. VICKEIIS' & STEVENS' REPORT. Messrs. Vickers & Stevens report that owing to the wet weather there wis not such a 'big yarding as was anticipated. Yearlings made from 17s (id to £1 Bs, yearling steers £2 4s, store cows £1 10s to £2 9s, springers £3 to £6 2s 6d. At Tarata, on Monday, calves to yea rlings made from 14s to £1 ss, store cow s £1 la to £2 7s, springers £2 17s to £4 lis. At Mr. G. E. Bocock's clearing sale on the Maude Road, on Tuesday, dairy cows made from £3 10s to £0 10s, old cows £1 10s to £2 10s, yearling heifers £1 10s, and sundries at fair prices. L. A. NOLAN & CO.'S REPORT. Poultry again met with a good demand, and good prices are still maintained. We quote:—Hens 2s 4d to 2s 71, roosters Is Od to 2s fid, ducks 2s 3d to 2s 7d, white leghorn hens as fid. At the mart a larg e quantity of furniture and sundries was sold at fair prices. -Jenkins, Matthews and Pigott report: —We had a splendid yarding at Urenui on Monday, all pens and races being occupied. Competition was more keen ' than at our last sale, and most lines were sold either at the hammer or privately. On Tuesday we held a clearing sale for Mr. ]>. l'iinl. under a perfect downpour of rain. Kidding was very animated. and all cows close to profit, and those lately calved, brought good prices. On Thursday we held an unreserved sale of furniture on account of Mrs. D. Wyllie. There was a large attendance of buyers, very satisfactory prices were realised.
WEBSTER BEOS.' HEPORT. On Saturday we had a fair entry of poultry which sold at advanced prices. There is a general shortage of all class«s of poultry at present, and breeders should not miss the opportunity of socuring good prices.
