CHURCH REUNION.
IWJGUCAXS AND PRESBYTERIANS. IMPORTANT MEETING. Received 17, 11.5 p.m. } London, September 17. ' Archbishop Clarke, of Melbourne, addressed an influential and representative gathering of clergy and laitv at Glasgow University relative to the reunion of Presbyterians and Anglicans in Australia. Professor Cooper presided. 1 The Archbishop declared that Home Presbyterians were deeply sincere and readily understood that the reformed churches of Australia needed to close their ranks and husband their resources, Itaen, and money. He preceded to say that 'the union must not be rushed, lest it breed fresh s chism. I • Dr. Meiklejohn applauded the results already achieved in Australia. He believed they would produce permanent effects. The Rev. Mr. Marshall (Moderator), in thanking Archbishop Clarke for his addres9, said the occasion was very important and possibly would prove historie. 1 Principal MacAlister said the Scottish laity watched these questions with more than passive interest.
