| A SEVERE ENGAGEMENT. DEFEAT OF THE SHAHIS FORCES. Received 15, 0.10 a.m. London, September 14. The Tiihes states that there has been lighting at Tabriz. The Shah's troops, after penetrating up to the loopho'ea of the Kiitai defences, wore repulsed with considerable loss, hand bombs causing a panic.
