DISEASES. "Infectious or contagious disease" means typhus fever, enteric fever, scarlet fever, bubonic plague, small-pox, diphtheria, tuberculosis, rodent ulcer, < malignent diseases, venereal diseases', and aay other diseases that the Governor by Order-in-Council gazetted declares to ba an infectious or con- 1 jtagious disease within the meantn* of t the Act. °

REGISTRATION FEE. The registration fee, formerly ss, is Bow Is p*r annum for a dairy of not more than two cows in milk; 5s for Wt more than 10, and 10s for over ten lows. SHEDS AND FLOORS. Sheds must be suited for milki'ig furpoffes. Air space in shed, 000 cubic feet n ; r Cow. Floor "of an even surface, and formed of concrete or other material impervious to water." A suitable gutter, connected with outlet drain. Insides of walls and roof swept at least monthly, but not withiu two tours before milking. No cowshed or building where cows lire kept, or milking-yard or a lock-yard psed in connection with the milking of cows, shall be within 30ft of stable, fowlhouse and run, calfpen and trough, manure heap, etc, or 50yds of a piggery. No open water supply to be wit'ain 60yds of a piggery. No cowdbed to be within 30ft of any dwelling; and m a city or borough of 6000 persons or over, no cowshed to be withia 100 ft of any dwellinghouse, or any boundary.

THE CONCRETE RACK. Sheds used for more than six cows, but unable to stall them all at once, tnust nave either an adequate yard attained, or wita aoncretcd or paved floor, or an adequate yard 30ft distant connected by a race concreted or paved. Clauses provide for the ventilation and drainage of cowsheds, milk-houses, etc.; adequate water supply, contamination of water supplies; proper repair of, and fourteen days' notification of proposed alterations to, buildings, etc. CLEAN MEN, CLEAN COWS, CLEAN MILK. Persons handling milk must be clean in person and clothes. : . Milkers must wash hands before milking or handling milk, and after 5 every cow. No milk to be drawn from an un- » washed udder or teats. STRAINED AND COOLED. Strain all milk through approved strainer. If not immediately separated, milk must be cooled by method approved by inspector. If milk be immediately separated, cream must be cooled forthwith. THE WASHING OF UTENSILS, ETC. Buckets and other utensils must be rinsed witlb cold water, washed with warm water, scrubbed, scalded by eteani or water, and drained fully exposed to the air; the washing of buckets tQ be begun within an hour alter milking, and finished within an hour later, and times of cleansing other utensils provided for. Milk cans used for skim milk or (whey must be emptied and cleansed immediately on return. No utensils to be used in which the joratg are not soldered, or which contain rust. Inspectors may brand with broad arrows any utensils they condemn. Every can must bear owner's name. Evwy cart and other milk conveyance must bear owner's name in 2-ineh IcttfiTSi Separators and milking machines must be washed, cleansed, and scalded Immediately after use. INFECTIOUS DISEASES. Every dairyman must notify the inspector immediately of the outbreak pi any of the infectious diseases on or aibout his premises is human beings or ins cattle. Employment of persons suffering from, or coming into contact with, infectious disease is forbidden. To Bell, give away, feed to stock, or allow to be used for human consumption milk from an animal diseased or •unhealthy, or from an animal within four clear days after calving is prohibited. Sleeping of human beings in a cowshed, milkhouse, etc., is tortudden; and fowls, pigeons, or other animals than cows and calves are not to be admitted. Milk conveyance must not be used for carriage of live or dead animals, or manure, Or pigs" food, or other material likely to contaminate. APPEALS. lAppeals to the chief inspector of Stock may be made in regard to inspectors' orders concerning the whit"•wasting clause and the cooling appliances; and an officer will then be seat to investigate and give a binding decision. THE PENALTY. The penalty for a breach of « regulation is five pounds. .The regulations will go before the et/ock Committee, anil evidence will he taken upon them.
