INTJSRNATINAL CONGRESS. . Received 13, 4.30 p.m. • Loudon, September 12. Thirty Government* participate in tilt; congress 03 the question of refrigeration, opening at Paris on October sth. Mr. T. A. Coghlaa will read A paper on the State encouragement given by various countries to the refrigerating industry; Mr. Gilbert Anderson one on New Zealand meat inspection from the international standpoint; Mr. Lowe on artificial cold in tho manufacture and preservation of butter; and Mr. Walter Preedy ir.io on colonial produce capable of benefiting by refrigeration. Scientific papers will also be read by Sir William Ramsay,' Samuel Ridvaf, Sr. Colliagridge (Officer of Health for the City of London) and others. ORDER AND GOOD FEELING PRESERVED. A COMPROMISE EFFECTED.
CEREMONIAL ELIMINATED FROM I PROCESSION. Received 14, 1 n.lll. . London, September 13After two days' telegraphic negotiations between tho Premier (Mr. Afrquith) and Archbishop Bourne, tins Premier deprecating the procession, and Archbishop Bourne requiring Mr, Asquith to make a public request for its abandonment, the Premier intimated that it would be better, in the interests of order and good feeling,that She ceremonial, of which he questioned tile legality, should not take place. Archbishop Bourne decided that all ecclesiastical ceremonial Rhould be eliminated from the processions; Cardinals iuul bishop to proceed to the Cathedral along the proposed route in full Court dress, but tlie ceremonial procession to be held within the Cathedral, and tire legate's Benediction be bestowed from the balcony of the Cathedral.
