I'inding no trace of petroleum, the directors ol the Inglewood Oil and 1 etroleuin Company liave stopped the boring operations on Mr. Burgess' property, near .Norfolk road, and tJie derrick has been dismantled. A depth of about 2(Kll)ft was readied. There is almost siillieient capital in hand, and the necessary plant, to put down a second bore, and the matter is to be submitted to the shareholders. The Tarauaki Oil and Freehold Company's shares are offered on the Auck- | laud market.
