ASSOCIATION CONFERENCE. By Telegraph.— Press Association. Dunedin, Last Night. At the second day's conference of the provincial Association football delegates a proposal that the South African team be invited to tour 'the Dominion, though unable to promise a guarantee, was approved by a majority of the delegates. It was considered I'JUO was unsuitable because of counter-attractions. l'roposals that a New Zealand team should visit Kngland,_ that the English team should visit New Zealand, and that a Western Australian team should visit New Zealand, were referred back to the Council. It was resolved that the New Zealand Football Association be asked to recommend to the' English Football Association to amend the rules so as to prohibit blocking, ami to ask for a more explicit interpret,ition of blocking, The instituting of regular iiuerislaml matches and the encouragement of more frequent interprovincial contifcstg were approved. At the. weekly meeting of the Auckland Rugby Union on Wednesday it was unanimously decided to donate £5 5s towards the cost of the erection at New Plymouth of a memorial to the late Mr. Alt". Bayly, the well-known New Zealand and Tarana'ki representative player, who was president of the NewZealand Union at the time of his death, which took place at Wauganui in December.

At the same meeting a letter was read from the secretary of the Taranaki Union thanking tlie Auckland Union for the kind manner in which they had entertained the Anilber and Blacks during their recent visit to Auckland, and asking if the union could see its way to .play a return match with Taranaki at New Plymouth on 29th September. After a short discussion it was decided to defer the question until the next meeting. In tlie meanwhile players willing to make, the trip were requested to notify the secretary (Mr. V. Langsford) by Friday afternoon.
