THE MONEY MARKET. • The Bank rate of discount is 2'/i per cent.; three months' bills, 1 9-16 per cent. The Paris rate is 1% per cent, to 2y a per cent.; Berlin rate, 3 per cent. GOVERNMENT SECURITIES. Gonsols, 80. New South Wales 4 per cents., 108: Queensland 4 per cents., 106; 3>/ 2 per cents., 'JG'/od; 3 per cents., 87%. South Australian 3V4 per cents., 99 3 per cents., 87Ms- Tasmanian 3'/ 2 per cents., 99; 3's, 88. Other stocks are unchanged. LONDON MARKETS. The damp weather has hardened the markets, especially for new English and readily available foreign parcels. There is little inquiry for cargoes, which are firmly held. Australian afloat is quoted at 38s 3d; prompt delivery 38s 9d; new crop, January and February shipment, 375. There 'is more inquiry for spot at 40s and 41s. / • Flour.—The market is quiet. Australian in London is fetching 24s 9d to (25s 3d, in G.asgow 26s 9d. Tbe American visible supply of wheat is 29,211,000 bushels. Butter.—The market is steady. Quotations: Danish 118s to 120s; Australian, none offering; New Zealand, 110s to 118s. Copper. Spot, £OO 18s 9d; three months, £6l 13s 9d. . Tin.—Spot, £l3O ss; three months, £l3l 7s 6d. • Lead, £l3 se. ■ Spelter, £l9 ss. . Iron, 52s 6d. Sugar—German 9s 6d, first marks lis lid. ' , t . •Wool—The Bradford wool market is firm. Prices are unchanged. Skins.—At the sheepskin sales /800 bundles were offered. The bulk was gold. There was an average attendance' of buyers, including some American.
