The music was supplied by Mrs. Des Forges, of Okato, and the duties of .U.C. 'were carried out by .Mr. T. E. Larking. The amount of .Ci lis was taken at the ikior. A meeting of the Cricket Club was held ill the library on Saturday evening. A fair number was present. Jt was decided lo hold a dance on the Bth of next month. The • annual meeting will lie held next Saturday night, The Catholic '-social" in aid of the I'ungarchu Cathulic Church will be held in the hall on Thursday night, 10th instant. A trotting match between Mr. C. Corbett's liorse and .Mr. F. Jiewport's will take place oil the I'aora road at an early date. The weather this last week or two has been dry for this time of tin; year. Some of the suppliers of the factory have had to cart water home because their tanks were empty. It is a verv unusual thing in this 'district to have empty tanks in. September. The .milk supply at the local factory is now on the increase daily. The covs are coming in fast, but they are not milking as well as they might, owing lo scarcity of feed and dry weather. I am informed that the Xewall road creamery manager is leaving shortly.
