MASTERTON SHOOTING CASE.
ACCUSED BEFORE THE COURT. By Telegraph,—Press Association. llastertou, Last Night. Tobias M illc/- stood in the dock at the Masterton Police Court to-day charged with shooting at Ernest Bight with intent to kill. The Bench was occupied by Messrs Eli Smith and John I Cross, J.'sP. Accused, who looked very pale ami careworn, was unrepresented Iby counsel. He did not exhibit any very great interest in the proceedings, which lasted a few minutes only. The body of the Court was densely crowilWl. Sergt. Miller, after the charge had been read by the C'kirk of the Court, stated tliat tile victim of the affray was confined to his tied, and askeil that; the prisoner be remanded for a week. The application was granted. The question of granting bail was not raised. There is 110 apparent change in the condition or Iliglit. To-day lie was in good spirits and appeared to be little the worse of the wound. \
