CARD PLAYING.

On Thursday evening a team from (lie ! Avenue Eoad club played a friendly I game of crib and euchre against the I Omata club at the Omata Hall. The game was a most enjoyable one, and was won by the Avenue Road team by 29 games. At the conclusion of the game the visitors were most hospitably entertained by the lady members of the Omata club. Captain H. Johns thanked the home team for the kind manner in which they had entertained his team, and hoped when the visit was returned the Omata players would enjoy then-1 selves as his team had done that evening. In conclusion, he called for three hearty cheers for the Omata club. Cheers were also given for the ladies.
