Tlie North Taranaki Hunt Club steeplechase meeting, to be held on the New Plymouth racecourse next Thursday, should be highly successful. Excellent nominations have been received, and some good racing should result. A course is being arranged on the racecourse for several steeplechases, and the jumps will include a water-jump, which should create some, amusement. The Garrison Band has been engaged to play for the day, and an excellent programme will be re'ndered. Afternoon tea, etc., will be provided from noon in the grandstand. Tlie charge for admission ?s extremely reasonable; Is only will be charged "at the main gate; ladies free. Given a fine day, the Hunt Club will be rewarded with a large attendance, both from town and country. The Railway Department will delay the usual 4.10 p.m. train until 5.15 to suit the convenience of country visitors.
