OBITUARY.
A. D. WILLIS, EX-M.P. Bjf Telegraph,—-Press Association. Uisbonie, Last Xight. Mr. A. J), Willis, ex-M.P. for Wanginui, died tliis afternoon. He was seized with illness on board the steamer ilonowai on the voyage from Auckland about eleven days ago, and was conveyed to a private hospital in (lisbonic. llis condition was very critical for several days, but he gradually improved, and two days ago was thuught to be out of danger. 11U .strength, howover, failed, and yesterday afternoon his condition again became such us to cause his family great anxiety. He gradually sank, and passed away peacefully about 3.40 o'clock this afternoon, Mrs. Willis and two sons arrived from Wanganui last week. Wanganui, Last Night. Profound rogret was expressed in town to-night when word was received that Jlr. A. U. Willis had passed away at (lisborne. Deceased, who was 00 years of age, had been a resident of Wanganui for thirty years, and was one of the most prominent public men. He was associated with the Borough Council, Harbor Hoard, etc.,. and represented Wanganui in Parliament for nine years.
