The Press of the Dominion has been publishing the fact that a veteran, !)5 years ol' age, vlio journeyed to Auckland in connection with "Elect Week," claimed to be the only survivor of the lirst China war. We learn, however, that Sergeant Bosworth, an Imperii.! veteran living at Eitzroy, also saw service in the China war, and has the medal as proof. He subsequently fougllt ill the Indian Mutiny and in the Alaori ■war, being attached to the -I'.lth aud subsequently to the 57th Keginient. At last night's meeting of the Agricultural Society's committee a resolution was passed expressive of the so ciely's regret that the services of Air. J. A. (lilnuli, Chief Coveriinieut Veterinarian, were to lie lost to the Dominion, ■wishing him success in his new sphere, and thanking him for past services to ■the society.
