A young workman of Mantua (Italy)' named Hisotti, was jilted liy his sweetheart because, slie declared, lie would never be able to give lier all tbe luxuries that she wanted. In despair, he sold up his home and bought a number of lottery tickets. AYlien one of the tickets won £3OO, he sent it to his former sweetheart and then committed suicide.
