Wilfonl, who has been endeavoring to obtaiu for the Maoris permission to Jisli in the waters of tliatX district, is in receipt uf the following telegram"As .-representatives of the natives in the Kotorua district, we desire to express our appreciation ot your services Hi championing our cause. Mauy of tile natives in the different* settlements are in a state of great need. The right to fish for trout, as food, would be of inestimable benelit to a large number of natives. Do youfr utmost for us." The telegram bears the signatures of Tai'kata Te Naera. Taa' Waharoa, Wiri Jlatete, Tai • Mitchell, and the llevs. Bennett and Tiniutiini llopene.
