The island is not connected by telegraph, but signals state that t)he boat was in charge of the chief officer, and left the Hawea on !Ai%ust 10th, in latitude 29.15 south, and longitude 154.57 east. The captain requested immediate assistance, as he feared the vessel would drift on the reefs northward of Lord Hove bland. The chief officer states tlhat the vessel's longitude position is probably affected by the recent southerly gales. The occupants of the boat landed greatly exhausted.
