There are still no tidings of the steamer Aeon, .bound from San Francesco to Auckland, and now 37 days o.il from the t'alil'ornian port. It is t.iought possible that the steamer's engines have broken down, or that she bis lost her propeller, file Aeon ilias about a million t'o-ct of timber for Wei* Jiugton, and a couple of hundred tons of general eargo For Auckland and also a considerable freighting for Australia. Sac is owned by the Howard Smith Co., of .Melbourne, and is a steel vessel, tons, ibuilL at ilowden-on-Tyne in 1005. She has only one propeller.
