EDWARD, PRINCE AND SAILOR.
On Tuesday, June 23rd, Prince Edward of Wales, our future King, was fourteen | years of age. Prince Edward is following in his , father's footsteps, so far as training is . concerned. He is a cadet at the Royal I Naval College, Osborne. In a few years, however, he will leave the sea, and go in for a military career. The King of England must, whether he likes it or not, be a soldier. The lioyal Naval College is a very popular educational institution, and has always a full roll, in one respect, at least, it a good example to many big public schools, and that is in its diet-, ary. The cadets get three meals a day, and, in addition, a light early breakfast and supper. All the provisions are of the highest quality. As a result, the Osborne cadets are as healthy a set of young Brikons as one could wish to see.' Prince Kdward is treated ill exactly the same way as his fellow-students, even to the extent of ''fagging" for a senior cadet, and, it may be—though, tit's we cannot vouch for —that he gratefully accepts " 1 ips " for so doing.
