OKATO. J (From Our Own Correspondent).' A very pretty wedding was celebrated at the Roman Catholic Church, Manaia, on Wednesday, August sth, when Katie, third daughter of . Mr. JI. Doyle, Manaia, was married to Patrick, third- son of Mr. J. Brophy, Okato. The Rev. Father O'Dwyer oliiciated with nuptial Mass. The bride, who was given away by her- brother, Mr. F. Doyle, Okato, was attired in white silk, trimmed with French knots and real lace, the bodice being trimmed with small true-lovers' knots. She also wore the usual wreath of orange blossoms and carried a shower bouquet ol Snowdrops and maidenhair fern, the gift of Mrs.. Hair, Manaia. The bridegroom's gift to the bride was a gold watch set with rubies. The bride was attended by her two sisters, the Misses DinaJi and Frances, and Miss Jessie Alvward, dressed in silk, carrying shower bouquets and wearing gold brooches (the gift of the bridegroom). .-"Mr. J. Brophy acted as best man. As the bridal party left the church amid showers of rice, the Wedding March ,wns played by Miss G. Hilles. Aftwr the ceremony a large number of gussts were entertained at tihe residence of the bride's parents, where the usual toasts were 'lioiroured.

WAREA. A farewell smoke concert was tenacred to Messrs. Fred Binnie and Arthur Guy in the Warea hall on Tuesday night. In spite of tire wet night twenty-seven were present. Mr. W. ' The Warea defence riflemen travelled to Oalcura to fire the return match with the Kaitake team on Saturday. Tin? weather was- excellent. , The conditions were seven men a-side, and seven shots at each range. Warea just won by the "skin of their teeth"—by two points. The ranges were JiOyds and 500 yds. For Warea W. Dps Forges put up the highest score, viz., 01, and for Kaitake C. Mace scored 02. Scores: — / WAREA.
