Hodge, land agent, Midhirst, lias sold Mr. Jackson's farm of 160 acres on the Mountain Road to Mr. A. Meads, of Midhirst, also Mr. Thomas' farm to Mr. Hunt, of Midhirst. This has long been recognised as the "star" social each season, and the committee in charge of the arrangements for this year's "social," on Thursday, 20th instant, are determined even to eclipse all previous efforts. The members of the Wellington and Taranaki representative team will be present, and the Carbine. Shield will be presented to the Star juniors. The ladies' committee is headed, as usual, by Mi's. E. Dockrill. Tickets are selling freely. Dancers will be pleased to learn that IJrs. George's orchestra will supply the music.
