By Telegraph.—Press Association. Wellington, Last Night. The Department of Industries and Commerce, has received cabled advicu that a butter famine exists in Victoria. Butter is being sold at Is lOd wholesale, and the market is'rising. The cable also states that there is a great demand for fat cattle, there being practically no cattle at tor the market in Victoria at present. ; j
HEAVY SUPPLIES COMING FORWARD. Received 11,10.25 p.m. Sydney, last Night. The local dairy merchants, following the example of Melbourne, to-day dropped the price of butter 40s per wt. A fdrther decrease is expected before the end of the week. Heavy supplies are coming forward.
