Mr. Jesse Piper, Mayor of Nelson, iat present in town with his wife, spending a short, holiday here. Professor Oilruth's new appointment is to be for five years. Mr. Percy P. Giesen died at Palmerston North on Friday from an Internal complaint. The late Mr. Giesen, who was in his 34th year, wits well known in athletic circles. Mr. C. S. Rennell, secretary of the New Plymouth Harbor Board, is at present in Wellington.
