OAONUI DAIRY COMPANY.
The annual meeting of shareholders ill the Oaonui Co-operative Dairy Co. was held on Thursday, July 30, and was attended by 34 shareholders, Mr. J. C. O'Rorke, chairman of directors, presiding. The annual report stated that during the year ended 30tli dune 11,010,9201bs of milk were received, and from this 480,4321bs of commercial butter had been manufactured, giving the result of lib of butter to 23.7iilbs of milk. The average test was 3.77, and the, over-run 11.7. Payments for butter-fat ar, U%d per lb had been made throughout the year, and there now remained a surplus of £1035 15s Id to be dealt with. This surplus, together with payments already made, represented a value of lO.Ood per lb on butter-fat for the whole year. The balance-sheet showed total receipts of £22,578 Us sd, of which £20,708 7s 8d had been received by sales of butter Principal items of expenditure were:—Milk advances £17,338 os lid, salaries £741) 12s, boxes £403 5s Ud, and cartage £403 17s Id. In moving the adoption of the bal-ance-sheet, the chairman said the iigures sliowuil what the Employees' Union was doing. As compared with ■the previous year the company h:\fl manufactured £BOO worth less butter, yet, and owing to the Employees' Union, it had cost £125 more in wages. The late demands of this union were exorbitant, and the farmers must combine for their own protection. The report and balance-sheet having been adopted, directors were elected as follows:— Factory, Mr. P. Cook; Kahui road, Mr. G. It. Tylee; Arawhata, Mr. J. Maciie.
