ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES.
A WIDOW'S SUICIDE. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Napier, Last JNight. Martha Milgrew, a widow, residing in White road, committed suicide by hanging herself in an outiliouse early this morning. Deceased's husband dicu some years ago, and she had maintained herself by cleaning ollices and other work. She was in fairly good health, but of late had appeared to be failing, and her mind seemed to be slightly affected.
A VETERAN'S DEATH. Auckland, Last Night. Daniel Theobald, one of the oldest residents, died in the Veteran's Home today; aged 87. lie served in the COth, Regiment through the Indian Mutiny, in the Maori War, and was present at the taking of Waitara pah, Taranaki. He held the Indian Mutiny medal, the New Zealand medal, tide Imperial long service and other medals. CHILD SEVERELY 'BURNED. Wellington, Wednesday. Lily Gibbons, a live-year-old girl, was severely burned through her clotlies becoming ignited while she was lighting a gorse fire at Akatarawa. The girl is in a critical condition at the hospital.
