MOTOR-CAR TRAFFIC.

(To tlic Editor.) Sir,—l desire to call attention to fie very excessive speed at which some owners drive llieir cars when passing through Waitara. On Sunday last there were at least two, and they greatly exceeded what is supposed to be the regulation speed. 1 think you have, drawn attention to this matter before; but as i it seems useless appealing to persons who are slaves to the lust for speed at ] any price, 1 think it time the authorities took a hand, before an accident occurs. Coroner's verdicts are not particularly satisfying to bereaved relatives. That being' so, I don't think a jury would convict any man who took suminiuy vengeance on a driver who caused a fatal accident. The old Mosaic dispensation was rather drastic, but it made sinners careful. Car-owners kindly nole.—l am. *c.. VKUbAXCE.
