A USEFUL INSTITUTION.

That Ike newly-formed club is destined to have a successful career is already apparent, as is the fact that il will nil a want that has been felt for a long time. The promoters have- shown commendable zeal in its establishment, ami placed the institution on. a footing that can hardly be other than permanent. They were singularly fortunate in obtaining such central and suitable quarters: better could not have been secured anywhere. The rooms-have been wed furnished and lilted up, and are complete in every way. The club starts under the best of auspices. The membership is already much larger than the most sanguine promoter anticipated, ami when the institution is properly running there is no doubt that this membership will grow considerably. The institution is a valuable addition to the town, and that it will be appreciated by all sections of the community goes without the saying. To us, its successful auguration is' particularly gratifying, since the idea of its establishment was lirst mooted and taken up in these columns. The formal opening takes place this evening, and we feel we are but echoing the sentiments and feelings of the town when we express the hope that the club will 'have a long, useful, and prosperous career.
