Jlr. A. Buchanan, of Palmcrston Xorth, bus announced his intention ol contesting the Palmerston scat at the forthcoming election. Mr. Buchanans platform will be an independent quo (states a Press wire). Jlr. A. Thomson, of Kaimata, was "farewelled" at Inglewood on Saturday by his friends and presented with a go d watch. Mr. Thomson is taking up his residence in Xew Plymouth. Mr. V. T. liellringcr, Town Clerk, who will represent the New Plymouth lioiougli Council at the Municipal Conference, left for Wellington yesterday morning.
