FRVN'K THORNTON'S FAREWELL TOUR. One bv one tile best of our artistes recede from the list of popular entertain-
ers. None will, however, be more missed than Mr. Frank Thornton, who is now farewulling the Dominion and Australia, as he retires on completing his present tour. Mr. Thornton has travelled through New Zealand on several occasions, and ranks amongst the most successful and popular actors that have ever visited us. Every theatregoer throughout the Dominion will regret Mr. Thornton's decision to retire from tin profession, for probably no comedion ever caused so much pleasure and laughter on the stage as ho has during his stage career. He appears in the character 17 that niaile him world-famed, and whilt lie. has impersonated no less than 1.200 times, always in want of his •• coloshcs, bath, lain, and glass of milk.' TO see Mr. Thornton as the "I'riva'.e Secretary" is something to remember. Therefore, we anticipate a crowded house at the Theatre Royal on Monday eveniii" next, when Mr. Thornton makes his liiml bow to New Plymouth. The plan is open at the Dresden.
