RAHOTU. The Rahotu Bachelors' Ball look place on Friday evening and proved a most enjoyable (unction, showing that the bachelors, though lew in number, certainly understand the art of entertaining. The hall was most tastefully decorated with nikau and limpings, and n. cosy sitting-out room had been provided for those who did not dance. This was filled with a parent healer. The lloor was in perfect order for dancing, ami excellent music was provided by Messrs. Knowles (piano), Duncan (violin), Fischer (cornet), and Edlin (flute). The weather was not very favourable -(but that was not the fault of the bachelors). NoyertholuSs, there was a good attendance from as far along the coast as Okato and New Plymouth, fully 150 being present. At about KI.JO light drinks and fruit were handed round, and about midnight an excellent supper was |iartaken of, after whbh dancing was resumed and continued with unabated vigour until about li a.m. Messrs. J. Willcox, W. Morrow, and J. Rolhery were most assiduous in their duties as M's C. During the evening an extra was played by Dr. Barron. The committee wlio arranged the ball were Messrs. Garcia (chairman), ,1. Kotherv, •T. Rothery, .1, Willcox. P. Willcox, F. Willcox. W. Morrow, ,1. De Castro. C. Knolllock, and A. I). Fielder, the latter of whom carried out the duties of secretary very ably.

It is reported that the married men intend giving a ball which will qui'e eclipse the cll'orts of the bachelors. A voutli named 11. Pennington, employed by Mr. ,1. C. Colmer, blacksmith, met with a painful accident on Monday afternoon. A heavy iron plate fell on his fool, severely bruising ir. lie was attended by Dr. Barron, and will probably be about again in Cue course of a fortnight.

A large number of Kaliolu residents intend visiting Auckland during licet week.

The Crown Dairy Company has disposed of its Kahotu farm to Messrs. W. C. Green and V. Tyrell, of Rahotu. The price is snid to be £ls per acre.
