N.S.W. LAND SCANDALS.

CRICK'S SUCCESSFUL APPEAL. London, July ay. The Privy Council allowed the appeal in the case of W. P. Crick; ex-Miuister of Lands of New South Wales v. Harnett, Sergcant-at-Arms in the Legislative Assembly, over-riding defendant's demurrer and dismissing the action with costs. In July, l'JOli, the Assembly adopted a resolution suspending Crick from attendance uLtil he should have unrtergone trial in connection with tlie land scandals. Mr. Crick refused to comply and was removed, lie then brought the action against the Scrgcant-at-Arms for assault ami removal from the House. Defendant pleaded that he had been acting under the Standing Orders and the Full Court gave judgment for plaintiff on a demurrer. Defendant then appealed to the Privy Council, with the above result.
