FRANK THORNTON'S FAREWELL TOUR.
A notable event in theatrical annals must be recorded on the occasion of Mr. Frank Thornton's approaching visit, seeing that he is 011 a farewell tour, and, after closing the present tour of the Dominion and Australia, finally retires from the stage. Mr. Thornton, with a new liondon company supporting him, appears oil -Monday evening next in the " Private Secretary," in the character of the Rev. Robert Spalding, in which he has now appeared over 1,200 times in all all parts of the globe. This impersonation made his name world-famous, ami should pack the theatre to its utmost capacity, for the piny ranks as one of the greatest comedies ever produced. Phenomenal success has attended Mr. Thornton's tour, and Xew Plymouth will be 110 exception, for this is positively the last opportunity of witnessing the greatest entertainment that has been here for a very long time.
