SWEATED INDUSTRIES. 1 London, July 28. Inc committee of the House of Commons appointed to inquire into the conditions of home work bus issued its report.
| The committee recommends lcgislation to provide for the registration of the home workers engaged in tailoring "J"*, the making of shirts and underclothing and Some, other trades; also the establishment of wages boards to fix minimum wages for these trades.
THE UNEMPLOYED ACT. London, July 28. The Unemployed Act has been renewed to remain in force until the. Poor' Law Commission issues its report. Mr. John Burns, President of the Local Government Board, in urging the renewal of the Act, threatened that, if it were allowed to expire the Go-' vernment's. grant of £200,000 a year for the relief of the unemployed would lapse.
