BOY BURGLARS BIRCHED. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Napier, Last Night. Two lads, aged 14 anil 13 years respectively, appeared at a sitting of the Juvenile Court before Mr. W. P. James, S.M., this morning, charged with breaking and entering Bcstull and Griffiths' drapery establishment and stealing 18s in cash. Each 'miner takes his explosives into the mine straight from the magazine each day when he goes to work, taking the exact quantity he will require lor the day.

PREPARING FOR CONTINGENCIES. Christchurch, Last Night. In order to be prepared for contingencies, it is understood that considerable extra supplies of coal are being laid in at tlie Addington railway workshops.

At n, largely-attended meeting of tho Chamber of Commerce the following resolution was passed, witli one dissentient:—"That this meeting places on record its disapproval of the principles established by the award of the Auckland Tramway Commission, viz., that an employer of labor lias not the same right of dismissing an employee as the latter has of quitting his employers service."
