Deans, | the Canterbury representative, thif whole of the New Zealand tcaCi to play Britain on Saturday are now in Auckland. The team practised at Victoria Park this afternoon, and the men are all in tip-top form. BRITAIN v. THE MAORIS. By Telegraph. —Press Association. Rotora, Last Sight. The match between the British footballers and the Maoris to-day resulted in an easy win for Britian by 11 points to 3. Although Britain's score was big, it in no way indicates the play, as tho Maoris held their own throughout. The brilliancy of Britain's backs was responsible for the big score. The for-J wards on both sides were evenly niatchi ed.

The iirst spell ended: Britain 8, Maori nil. Two tries were scored, one by Dyke, and the other by Laxon. The latter try was converted by Harding. The second spell proved more disastrous for the Maoris, as four tries were i added to Britain's credit, two being converted. These tries were scored by Jones, Griffiths, McEvedy, and Dyke, McEvedy converted two. Towards the dosing 'stages of the game, Jackett was prevented from getting in his kick, and losing possession of the bail, Kirn rushed and raced for the line neck and neck with the Britisher, and scored near the corner. Wild excitement greeted the effort, Kira being carried shoulder high by the excited crowd. The Maoris in attendance were estimated at 1-300. The weather was cloudy. Raiu began to fall just at the cloSc'of the game. The Britisher-: are being, entertained to-night at a social and dance.
