CRICKET.
THE TRIANGULAR TROUBLE. London, July 19. The Observer states that the advisory committee of the Counties' Cricket Association did not sufficiently digest the triangular scheme before sending its representatives to Lords to vote. The turn in the voting has surprised everyone. Now that the Jlarylebone Club has made it possible for the counties to reconsider the matter, it would be unfortunate to miss the opportunity of righting themselves with Australia. Notts, Gloucester, and some minor counties have passed resolutions in favor of an Australian team's visit, j Marylebone is awaiting a. tion from five comities which is necessary to bring about the convention of a meeting of the Association. ENGLISH MATCHES. London, July 19. In the counties' cricket championship Yorkshire is leading with 11 wins and 7 draws. Surrey, Kent, and Middlesex have each lost one match. The match between Lancashire and Surrey, played at the Oval, was to have been a benefit to Hayes, but rain absolutely spoiled the game, and made the attendance very meagre. Consequently ihe match will he replayed in September.
