ROAD BOARD TROUBLES. There seems to be a misunderstanding of the position of the Taranaki County Council and the three Road Boards which recently decided to merge into the county. The following copy of a resolution' passed at a meeting last Saturday has been forwarded to the County Council, and it is to be backed up at its next meeting by a deputation: "That delegates from the Road Boards in the Omata riding strongly protest ii»ainst tile merging of the Carrington, Franklcy, and Eliot Road Boards into the Omata riding of the Taranaki county." The meeting expressed itself' in favor of the merging so long as the districts mentioned were formed into a separate riding. Their resolution must fade into thin "air upon reading that, at a special meeting of the Taranaki County Council on I'ridiiv, 12th .lime, the following resolution was curried:—''That this Council approves of the Eliot, Frankley, and Carrington Road Districts being merged into the county, ami that the above districts lie eonsiitnted a separate riding of the county of Taranaki."
