THE SYDNEY SHElil' BALES. A Sydney correspondent writes: The depression in the wool market ha«, of course, affected the wool sales. There is not the same pressing inducement to buy liberally that there was last year, and there is not so much motley available. Ixnig-wools especially were hard ! to move al. any figure approaching breeders' ideas of value. Even under these, circumstances, however, one merino ram, Sylvan, brought 800 guineas. Who says nil the capital has left the country? The usual meetings of pastoralists are being held. It w interesting to note that prominent members of the Pastures Protection Board still pin their faith to the TJenysz expedient for destroying rabbits. Faith is easy to carry and doesn't, cost. much. No one need quarrel with it therefore, provided it doesn't cause relaxation of eil'orts to check the pest by methods about which there is no question.
