SNOWSTORM IN POVERTY BAY. By Telegraph.—Pixjss Association. Clisborne, Saturday. There lias been a heavy fall of snow along the East Coast. The hills are covered as far north as Waipiro. The coach from Morere ploughed through drifts up to the horses' knees. HEAVY RAIN IN WELLINGTON. Wellington, Saturday. Rain fell last night and this morning. The weather is still cold and wet. The Tintaru correspondent of the Press states the recent fall of snow is likely to be more serious than was at lirst anticipated. in the Mackenzie country, ruuholders are employing men at great expense to save as many sheep as possible, but it is stated that where hundreds were lost after the last snowstorm of some few years back, the loss this time will run into thousands.
