GOOD BUSINESS.
A capital story, illustrating what a| keen business race the Jews are, is told by Mr. Bernard, tlie playwright. He says: " I met a friend of mine who had bought up a stock of cast-off clothing, aiuAvas' burdened with forty-nine overcoats of which he could not dispose. • I have priced them down fifty per cent., he told me,' and nobody will take them. ■ I'll tell vou what to do/ said Mr. Bernard. ' Here is a list of seven Jewish gentlemen in Marseilles, Lyons, and elsewhere. Send each of them seven of your overcoats, and send each one an invoice for six only. They will be pretty sure to keep them.' "A few davs afterwards t met my friend again. He was very rude to me. Each one of the seven Jewish gentlemen had kept one overcoat and returned him the six mentioned in the invoice V
