Tallow.—At the auctions 1253 casks were offered and i)sl sold. Fine mutton 34s 3d, medium 31s; line beef 33s 3d, medium 30s (id. Wheat.—The American visible supplv of wheat is 18,800,000 bushels. Bank shares.—Union bank, buyers £Ol 10s, sellers £O2 10s; Bank of New Zealand, buyers £0 10s, sellers £h), stock £lO. New Zealand Loan and Mercantile shares are quoted at £9 4s.
WOOL MARKET STILL ANIMATED. London, July 15. The wool sales are still animated. Prices are extremely firm at opening rates. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Wellington, July 10. The following cnble has been received from the High Commissioner at London, dated July 15:—"The wool sales commenced with a large attendance and great competition. Prices show an average of Vi>d advance over those ruling at the close of last sale. Americana are buyers of suitable qualities." - 1 Dalgety & Company, Ltd., Wellington, I have received the following cablegram from their London house, dated 14th in9t.:--"'ljhc wool sales liave opened with a good selection. There is a large attendance of buyers and competition is animated. Prices are on the average 5 per cent, higher than the closing rates of last series. Scoured merino wools, inferior and faulty descriptions, are excepted, but any change in the price of these is in favour of sellers."

On Saturday there was again a small supply of poultry, and consequently realised good l prices. We quote: Roosters 2s to 3s 3d: hens Is lOd to 2s; pullets Is 7d to 2s Id', ducks Is lid to 2s 1.0(1.
Fruit—Apples arrived in large quantities, but did not meet with owners' values. Prices realised:—Crabs 7s Od, Stunners 9s, red dessert 9s od, bananas 7s, passion fruit ss. At the mart a large quantity of furniture and sundries were sold in favor of buyers.
We held a clearing sale of furniture on account of Mr. Kelly, and fair prices were realised.
