LABOR CONFERENCE.
NEW "FIGHTING" PLATFOKM, Brisbane, July 11. The Federal Labor Conference has concluded. The conference approved a sthenic for the adjustment of the financial relations between the Coiumonw«altu auU tile State. this provides that the proportion of revenue allocated to the Commonwealth must be sutlieient to cover all existing expenditure (apart from reproductive services) to cover old-age and invalid pensions throughout the Commonwealth; also an naai" tional sum, not to exceed £1,000,000, \o meet the expanding necessities of the Commonwealth Government, such as the creation of a Federal capital, railway undertakings, and the development of the Northern Territory; the amounts to be returned to the States to be tixed on a per capita basis with, a further capitation allowance to Westralia owing to the exceptional position of Westralia. The amended lighting platform adopted contains the following nine planks: Maintenance of a while Australia. The "new protection,'' Nationalisation of monopolies. Graduated lax on unimproved laud values. A citizen defence t»rco. A Commonwealth Bank, Restriction of public borrowing. Navigation laws. Arbitration Act amendment. A resolution was carried expressing 1 sorrow at llr. .1. Watsons tetirenient from politics and appreciation of his great services to the labor movement.
