GROUNDING OF THE WESTRALIA
ALLEGATIONS AGAINST THE CAPTAIN.
Received 7th, 11.16 p.m. Sydney, July 7. The marine enquiry into the grounding of the Westralia found tJie grounding was caused by a wrongful act on the part of Captain Dnnsford in recklessly navigating the vessel in a fog at a much greater speed than was prudent and steering a course which must necessarily have brought the vessel very close to land. The Court called •upon iim to show cause on Friday why his certificate should not be dealt with.
