THE FOOTBALL HOLIDAY.
Mr. 11. G. Caiman, Ellhain, writes:— "Mr. Skoglund states lie supplied the infuiiiiatioii re Elthain Tradesmen's Association refusing to observe a holiday on the authority of a letter received from the secretary of our association, and quotes a passage which 1 fail to see contains any refusal, but supports mv statement that our executive were in' favor of the holiday. In regard to Ihe telephone message, the secretary (.Mr. Hardy) acted without the knowledge or instructions of the executive, but" 1 cannot see that his message contained a refusal to close, he stating omy his opinion, namely, thill he was •doubtful,' so that I consider the statement that the information is 'absolutely incorrect' holds good."
