COURT INCIDENT.
To the Editor. Sir,—Permit me a little space to state thai I cordially agree with the sentiments expressed iu your correspondent "Juror's" letter of ye'sterdav. It is quite time that even figurehead's of Justice are made to feel that they cannot insult a respectable fellow-citizen with impunity. Of course, .Ind.ues may say what they please, and y.m must not answer back. No man should take advantage of his position or abuse it, There are, however, always some who, "dressed in a little brief authority." ride' the high horse on every occasion. How different it would have been, Mr. I'lditor, if the Judge had cracked a joke or an alleged joke. Have you ever heard a joke from their Honors? 1 can assure you they are fearful perpetrations. Counsel smile, the jury take it up. and it spreads round the Court, ending in a loud guffaw, there being just as much noise caused by Mil's as a little handclapping.—l am. eje, STRAIGHT TALK.
