j LORD DUDLEY'S BANQUET. !'■■' London, June 30. , ' At tart night's banquet Lord Curzon, Ipproposing "The Oversea Dominions,'' emphasised our mutual dependence and the Motherland's indebtedness to the Colonies. Mr. W. H. Kidstou, Premier of Queensland, in proposing " The Chairman," gaid he believed the Dominions iwould find in Lord Crewe a sympathetic, Able Md efficient administrator. Referring to the cost Df the Empire's defence, lie said a better sentiment and recognition of their position was dawning upon Australians as upon the other Dominions. The guests included the Hon. W. P. Reeves and Canon Williams. Twelve hundred people attended a .reception held after the banquet. During his speech- at the banquet, {Lord Dudley expressed the hope that " British naval supremacy would ever be regarded as the keystone of the Em- __ fire's policy and existence. Lord Dudley will travel to Canada aboard the indomitable in company with the Prince of Wales, leaving London on July 15.
